Why do people expect legitimate medical advice from Yahoo users?

i mean... seriously....

have none of you ever heard of talking to an actual doctor? Why do people expect legitimate medical advice from Yahoo users?
it's not an expectation in men's health that answers are medical advice... it's people,,, people who need people... i think i hear barbra! Why do people expect legitimate medical advice from Yahoo users?
Most of the questions on here are things that can be answered by laymen. People want to know about masturbation, body building, male supplements and enhancements, they want to know about STDs and all things related to sex. Condoms is another subject that comes up a lot. And of course there's always some little kid too lazy or stupid to use the search function who wants to know if his little man is big enough.

Of course people shouldn't expect real medical advice. And those that do get a ';go see a doctor'; remark like someone else already stated.
i think alot of people come wanting to know they're not alone when it comes to medical problems. it's not so much they don't want to visit the doctor, but there are some simple things you can check on here for such as remedies to soothe a sunburn. but for the most part, i think it's just to know you're not the only person with a certain problem.
First off, some people don't have health insurance and since a doctor's visit can cost up to $150. %26amp; Idk about you but right now, i don't have that money. Some people here have experienced some of the symptoms the person asking the question is experiencing that way they can give some advice. %26amp; some people here ARE actual doctors and their advice CAN be accurate.
Yahoo answers is free.

Yahoo answers does not have to know your face if you have a ';embarrassing'; situation.

Yahoo answers is not to be taken as serious as an actual doctors.

Yahoo answers is also full of people that may know some medicine.

Bottom line:

You are right but it never hurts to ask right?!
What, you mean everything these people say isn't 100% accurate.

There have been a number of answers that help the user try to understand a similar issue to take to a doctor, but you're right, anyone that relies on Y/A for medical advice probably doesn't have health insurance.
A LOT of questions on Yahoo are motivated by people's loneliness, fears and anxieties. Most people probably don't act on the advice and opinions that they receive: they only want to share their concerns, and they hope for friendly responses. (In my opinion.)
I don't think people are looking for medical advice; I think they are looking for opinions and suggestions from people who may have had similar experiences.
Some people pretty much know what they are looking for, and just need a word of advice.........but for an actual diagnosis, yes, I agree........they just need to see a doctor.
i don't think they're looking for legit medical advice,

i think they're just looking to see if anyone else has experienced what they have, if they should be worried or not etc..
get another opinion why the doctor is closed, some people that may have had the condition previously can give you some advice, it's all about making it until your doctor opens.
idk they are crazy

you shouldn't even trust it from a walk-in clinic

you need to go to a real family doctor
People do tend to ask a lot... I guess they figure out of all these people somebodies got to be a doctor and the might get lucky

Or they're morons... Either way
That's why at least 90% of all answers in this section contain the phrase ';go see your doctor.';
I am self conscious.

The next question is,

what makes u think they do not receive a legit answer?
they want to knOW what normal people think is wrong with them
lmao
I don't think they EXPECT it I mean duh.....they are just curious as to what others think........get it..
