Why do people give advice when they don't understand the situation?

People keep asking when are you going to get married? When we answer that neither of us have money (school debts, credit debts), we still live at home (and we would not want to be married and living with parents), and don't have a chosen career yet, people respond with, ';Thats not good enough!'; and then go into what we should be doing; this even happens when we go to a certain Taco place.

Most of the people are friends and we don't really know how to get them to shut up.

Help. Why do people give advice when they don't understand the situation?
Hi there,

it doesn't sound like 'advice' to me, it sounds like they are trying to tell you what to do! Why don't you just change the reason why your not marrying to something like, 'we're just waiting', or 'we're too young to get married yet'. Something along them lines. Or be cocky and just say 'I don't see you married?'
