Any real estate agents have advice for people aspiring to get there license?

This is the worst market- but if you want to - then just remember to

pre -qualify your clients by getting in touch with a good lender who can help you know how much they can afford and how good the credit looks this way you won't waste your time with people who have severe credit issues. Network in your area and familiarize yourself to the community you want to sell in. Get your face on your business card and do mailers in an area telling people what their houses will sell for. It will make you sound knowledgable and professional. Its a business - yours, so dress and act professional when meeting clients. Also get those ';up calls'; when you can- because it could very well be your next commission --$$$$ Good luckAny real estate agents have advice for people aspiring to get there license?
My brother was considering it. Here's what he was advised to keep in mind:

Real estate is a small business. You'll be very much on your own. Even in a group you'll have to do your own marketing, lead development, follow up.

Real estate is commission sales. Unless you've got a spouse who's covering the bills, you're going to be hustling and hungry for a while until your name gets known.

You'd better like to talk to people because you're going to be doing a lot of it.

Real estate is more than a full time job. Showing houses happens when it's convenient for clients - evenings, weekends. If you have kids, you'd better have a way of having them tended while you're at work.
