I have just turned 18 and I'm thinking about getting a tattoo. Any advice from people who have one?

Take your time and really think about what you want and where you want it! Think about your future (Dont get something on your arms, face, neck thats going to affect a future job ect.) If you go to one place and they are alot cheaper than somewhere else......theres a reason THEY SUCK!!! Don't be cheap, money buys quality in a tattoo!! Hope this helps!I have just turned 18 and I'm thinking about getting a tattoo. Any advice from people who have one?

';if i get a tattoo, will i still like it in 30 years?';

Just make sure you know exactly what you want on your skin for the rest of your life.I had my first tattoo at 19,and had to get it covered up with a bigger tattoo because i didnt think properly about what i wanted...make sure you know the design you want and think about it for a long time before getting one.
Wait till you're 30. Your interests will be more defined by then.

Trust me.
Whatever you choose make sure you won't regret later.
No, don't do it...
Choose your design and where you want it then get advice about good tattoo artists in your area.

It is really important to make sure it is a sterile environment to avoid infection - and don't be afraid to ask how much experience they have.

You don't want to be guinea pig # 1!

(PS: I have heard that apprentice tattooists practice on pigs because the skin texture is similar to humans).
