My daughter wants a Beach cake for her birthday, so I wanted to make a little girl in a swimsuit. Thanks!Any advice for making people out of fondant?

It's not hard to make fondant figures. It helps if you have a scale so you can get the parts the same size (for example so you don't have one fat arm and one thin arm). You're not likely to leave fingerprints on the figures, I wouldn't bother with gloves. It does help to have short fingernails though.
If you're going to make your figure sitting or standing, it's good to have some support in it, like a lollipop stick. I like to use a lollipop for the head of the figure, covered with fondant. Then the stick acts as support for the rest of it.
It also takes a couple of days to dry, so make the figure ahead of time so it will be dry enough to put on the cake.Any advice for making people out of fondant?
Wear gloves so you don't leave fingerprint impressions in the fondant and if you have, hot hands like me keep a bowl of ice water beside you. Make sure that it is not to warm in the area or the fondant wont set. After you are done forming the figures wait for them to get hard before putting them on the cake this can take over night depending on the moisture in the air and the temperature.
