Whoa. 7 miles is a loooong way to be pedaling if you're not use to riding.

You gotta get in shape to ride a bike that far. Start out by riding 10 minutes twice a day. Then each day, slowly increase your ride time 'til you reach your goal of 7 miles. Eventually you should be able to do this in about 40 minutes minimum.

If you have a multi gear bike, keep it in gears that are easy for you to peddle. You should be able to turn the peddles at least 60-70 times a minute. This is called spinning. Keeps your legs from getting as tired.

Walk your bike home and your legs won't be so tired.

Seriously
You want to practice spinning at 70-90 rpm's with a lite pressure on the pedals. That will keep you legs from getting tired. Take your time and go for distance. Your butt is going to hurt until you get use to it.
Scarlett, bike riders need what is call ed a warm-up period. You need to pedal lightly for about 20 minutes while your blood flow catches up to your activity, and then you will find things will smooth out. The first 10 minutes are the most tiring, especially if you push yourself while still cold.

Aside from that, you need to keep biking and you'll get stronger. I don't think 7 miles is such a big deal - my first time out after 15 years of laziness ended up 12 miles. Also learn to use the gears to give you the most efficient possible ride (and if you got a single speed bike, you've made a bad choice).
