Why won't people take Jesus advice and try to avoid spending eternity in Hell?

I mean people are actually in Hell right now.

They are burning and screaming in agony.

Who would want to go to Hell?

All you have to do is believe in God, and people choose not to.

Don't they understand they will die and spend eternity in Hell? Why won't people take Jesus advice and try to avoid spending eternity in Hell?
I agree with you.

Good points.

Good question.

Why don't they? They don't want to take responsibility for their errant actions. They look for excuses not to believe in God so they can feel better about themselves. They tell themselves there is no God so they don't have to do some of the things a Christian does. The more mud they can throw at Christians--the better they feel about themselves.

They are grasping at straws. For proof just read their questions, answers, and comments on R%26amp;S.Why won't people take Jesus advice and try to avoid spending eternity in Hell?
I know you are trying to get ppl to believe and don't get me wrong i know there is a god and i know that god loves me and im not ashamed of him but some ppl just don't believe and that's ok not everyone can go to heaven not everyone is deserving of it that's why we have freedom of choice god gave that to us and its up to us to chose they chose not to believe and that's ok because that's there choice even if they are going to hell i know this sounds cold but why do you care you are not the one that's going to be suffering
I liked rolling stone's answer here. I see how it is so true these days everywhere you go.

What you say is true, but people don't want to believe it at all. They don't really want to change their ways or be told, even by God, what they should or should not do, or where they should or should not go. Maybe they think they can get saved at the last second like the thief on the cross, but what if they die in their sleep or instantly in a crash or while in a coma and don't have time to ask forgiveness for sins. What else are we here for except to do as God wants us to?

Some people will not to believe, and so are not chosen to go to Heaven. God knows us and knows our hearts, and if we choose not to believe, we have that free choice, but it condemns us to hell eternally. we are eternal beings, we will spend eternity somewhere.
No, it's a myth. Jesus probably never existed, if he was he was just some rabble-rouser about whom legends began to spring up a couple of centuries later.
So... To avoid being in Hell people should believe in him?

I thought people converted to 'thank' God not to convert out of fear.

Oh well. I guess Im going to Hell.

You should go back to your trailer.
Christ said only the righteous will inherit eternal life eternal torment in hell is eternal life so why do you believe that lie?
Wouldn't it be a bit insincere to believe in God just to get out of going to Hell, and not out of your own genuine volition?
So your reasoning for believing in God is to avoid burning rather than to better yourself as a person.

If God loves me, why would he send me to such a place?
Because it makes no sence if thought about logically.
Jesus never ever gave that kind of advice. You would do better to study the word of God instead of being a pew squatter wanting your ears tickled with fables.
Scare tactics don't work on me.
Everyone has the right to their own beliefs.
STOP BEING SO CLOSE MINDED

GO FAIL SCIENCE MORE
Because, as you can see by the answers so far, people are broken and Grace does not make any sense to them. It is too straightforward and ';fair'; to be believable.

To prove my point, one of the great philisophical questions bandied about is if an evil man spends his whole life being evil and malicious causing harm to others and then in his last 5 minutes of life he calls out to the lord for Grace, will he go to heaven?

the answer is so simple that we simply do not believe it...if this man has no chance then I have no chance and no one has a chance.

But since I am a much better man than Adolph Hitler and Stalin I tend to not believe that I am better and that they do not deserve a chance and do not believe if they get a chance that it is fair. How dare God rank me with them? And therefore we march on never understanding God because of the glory that we give ourselves in the endless comparison to others while at the same time we judge God for offering mercy to all. How dare Him...?

The wierdest part about this is that the naysayers get angry at the idea that God will let us perish if we don't grab hold of His offer. the reality is that they do not believe that they have no chance because they are so much better than the evil man crying out with only a few minutes left to breath. They claim that they are loving...even more loving than God... but the reality is that they do not want to rank themselves with certain people because they are obviously superior.

One day, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess...then comes the judgement...you may stand on your own in your own glory and pride or rank yourself with the worst of the worst so as to clearly understand the value of every soul to our God and Saviour and the value of Grace and Mercy.

All glory to our Lord Jesus Christ.
