They certainly seem incapable of giving any useful answersOn the psychology questions page, are the ones who advice people to see a psychiatrist the real nutcases?
**** them and **** psychologists tooOn the psychology questions page, are the ones who advice people to see a psychiatrist the real nutcases?
No except the idiot chavs, Im a psychology student and I have advised people to see a psychologist or psychiatrist on here before.
We are all nutcases... We who are recieving professional help have come to terms with it, the rest of you are still in denial.
Hey, I've seen the responses you've given, and they aren't exactly helpful to anyone... at all... either. There is a code of ethics within the realm of psychiatrics and psychology that you must be unfamiliar with - that is 1) if you do not know the answer, don't make one up, and 2) if you do not have a license, you may not give diagnoses or therapy. Instead, you may give advice. Therefore, people who are intelligent and aware of these ethical standards can give some sound advice, and still recommend that an individual refer to a licensed professional who can take the time for an intake session, and get the right amount of background information and build a therapist-client relationship before diving into some good help.
You, on the other hand, wildly distribute your uneducated opinion. The rest of us sure do appreciate that, and we want you to know that your one very important response to questions that have already received thirty also-opinionated responses really keeps the belching, burbling, brunt of a machine a-rollin' along. Thank you.
Not nutcases, just sheep.
Anyone taking Y!A serious is a nutcase if you ask me.
You are requestingk a clear cut diagnoiziz wiz ziss efidenze!
I zuggest that you go to yurr bed und keep taking zer tablets.
Doc Zash.
I think it's generally good advice for anyone to seek therapy. You don't necessarily have to have issues to talk to someone...therapy can help you know yourself better. I'm not so sure everyone can benefit from personality-affecting drugs, though. Maybe you should see a psychiatrist to find out.
Everyone is a nut case in my words because everyone has different opinions and thoughts on things but depends how crucial the problem is. So there is no right or wrong answer
You CAN'T tell how ';seriously'; unwell someone is on the Internet... People on here may work or have worked in Mental health and be more aware of what seems to be ';wrong'; with someone. You can't make a diagnosis over the Internet. HENCE WHY people may suggest seeing your GP who may decide to refer you to a psychiatrist or psychologist....
The term nutcase is derogatory and I am wondering why you used it? You seem a bit aggressive and very defencive as well. But I suppose that must be because I am a nutcase, incapable of giving any useful answer as well then?
Need to see a medical doc 1st, psychologist 2nd, and last resort psychiatrist. Psychiatrist only medicate you and send you away. Over the last several years there has been fine lines drawn with mental illness treatment. Not all of them are nutcases, they are in it for the $$$$$$.
why are you the judge? Not
no they might need that...
You can't tell whether someone is mentally ill or not over the computer, and it isn't that easy face to face for that matter. Seeing your doctor first, and letting them make the referral to a psychiatric nurse/counsellor or psychologist makes so much more sense than diagnosing yourself or others from the opinions and experiences of people on answers.
If you believe you can diagnose or cure yourself from the answers you'd get to asking a question on here then you really should see a doctor
i think the real nutcases are the ones who tell you to pray about it and gush about how much god loves you.
People who are not professional are reluctant to give solid advice as they don't want to say the wrong thing and potentially make the situation worse; hence the recommendation to see a professional. They prefer to err on the side of the angels.
I quite often advise people to see a psychologist or doc or shrink. Not because Im a nutter (which I am) but because sometimes the answers are far too complicated to be discussed in a forum such as this. Sometimes the most useful answer is to tell someone to seek professional help. I can give very useful answers, but they would be based on limited knowledge of that persons case, which essentially is very dangerous. For example a useful answer to your question would be to not refer to people who need a psychiatrist (albeit an inference rather than a direct comment) as nutcases - because we know where you live :)
Life isn't always black and white enough for simple answers
when people have questions relating to strong feelings there are often so many factors that come into play that a simple answer based on our own thoughts and assumptions just arn't going to help
